A couple of Halloween Cards.
My friend, Carol, says it is better to post late than never. So here are a couple of cards I made. I am only a day late. The first one is a stamp by Stampendous. I used large daubers for the background in Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron from Stampin up. Stamped the image in brown I cut out the bat and the mice from Martha Stewart's holiday collection. I colored the pumpkins with Copics.
The second card used a nestie from Spellbinders . It is a Halloween one and I thought was so cute with the cats and birds on the fence. The flying witch is from Inakadinkado ( I think) I used a glitter pen on all of the star. However is doesn't show up in the computer.
Thanks for looking. I have been in a funk with posting so maybe this will get my mojo back.

LIM #35 The Color of your Eyes. / OLW 67 Thoughtsgiving
I have missed a couple of weeks. Doing other projects. So thought I would do two challenges at one time.
The first one is from http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/. This challenge is to make a card using the color of your eyes. As you can see mine are blue.
The second challenge is from http://stylesink.ca/ This week, the challenge is to make and send/deliver a “Thinking of You” card to someone who is struggling with any kind of battle
I used an old Stampin'Up set and the words are from Annette Allen Watkins. Another old stamp. I am still not managing the photography very well as the card stock was white. But is still doesn't look too bad.

I am getting a lot of practice in coloring. Embossing folder Stampin'Up. I added a little glitter to make it pop however it is hard to see on the picture. I poped up the ball with dimentionals.

Anyone for Tennis?
My youngest grand daughter, Cameron, was 10 years yesterday and she plays tennis. I have finally found a tennis stamp. I hope she likes it. The embossing folder is Stampin'UP. The stamp is La-La Land Crafts. Colored with Copics. I have to confess I used the picture on the package for a coloring guide. Hair is really hard to color. I also gave her a circle of grey to stand on but it doesn't show up.
Thanks for looking.

OLW -63 Baby
It has been a while since I posted. I have been travelling. Went to Alaska to a funeral of a dear friend. However I did get to see my 3 grandsons and visited with lots of friends. So that was a bonus to a sad visit.. Then headed off to Hawaii to celebrate my BIG birthday. This was fabuous. So here I am back to creating again. The OLW challenges are back. I have really missed them. This week's challenge is to make a baby card using only one layer of cardstock http://stylesink.com/
This was really timely as I needed a baby girl card. Here is my card. Still have problems with the lighting on the picture but I am sure you will be able to see it. Sentiment is by Stampin'Up, image is Petaluna (another old stamp but a favorite). Colored with Copics.

Winter in July -OLW-62
This week's One-Layer Wednesday Challenge http://simplicitybylateblossom/ is to Make It Personal. In other words, make a card for a particular person that is custom designed for him or her.
So here is my card. My husband and 2 sons are awesome skiers. So this card will be for one of them. Living in Colorado we can still see snow on the mountains even although the temperature has been in the high 90s.here at the house.
I tried to mask the skier but it wasn't as easy as I thought. I did it several times and this is the best effort. It was hard to mask the ski poles. Anyway I thought it turned out quite nicely. The skier is by Stamp Your Art, Trees are Hero Arts and the sentiment is Printworks. I also chalked the sky. I am still working on the photography aspect. I will get there some day hopefully.
Thanks for taking a peek. Your comments are welcomed.

This week's challenge is by http://stylesink.ca/. We have to make a single layered card using clouds. So here is my card. This is the first stamp set I bought from Stampin'Up 10 yrs ago. It is the only set I have with clouds. I think it is a cute set and am glad to have the opportunity to dig it out of my stash and use it. I colored with Copics and used crystal effects on the clouds and puddle.

OLW - 60 Quick layers of ink.
This week's OLW challenge http://simplicity/ is to make quick and easy cards with nothing but layers of ink by overlapping the stamped images and/or sentiment. The idea here is to practice whipping up a quick card or even an easy card set at the last minute with just ink and cardstock!
This was not as easy as it sounded. I did struggle again this week. I am not thrilled with my card. However I am pushed for time so this is what I have. All stamps, ink and card stock is Stampin'up. Hopefully I will be more cretive next time. Thanks for looking.

OLW59 is an inspiration challenge based on this photo.( http://simplicitybylateblossom.blogspot.com/ )

OLW #57
This week's challege http://stylesink.ca/ is to make a card with a summer/beach/ocean theme. I have chosen this stamp from Inkadinkado and colored it with copics. The sentiment is by Amuse. I have to confess I have had this stamp for about 10 yrs and have never used it. So I welcomed the chance to put some ink on it. That is what challenges are all about. Right?
I must admit I haven't quite got the hang of taking pictures yet. Either they are too light or too dark or crooked like this one. I hope I get better with practice.

I am playing catch up today in my Happy Room. Unfortunately I have to start off by making sympathy cards. Here are a couple I made The first one uses Gina K stamps and Stampin up card stock and markers. The second uses a Stampin'Up image and markers. Sentiment on both is GinaK. I used the frame idea for the first time and must say I really like it and will use it again.
Hope you are having a great Memorial Day Weekend. Thanks for looking

OLW -48 - Sympathy card.
This weeks OLW card challenge (Simplicity) is to make a sympathy card without using flowers or trees. Now that is a challenge because to me flowers and trees mean peace and beauty. Well I made a card. I am not sure I really like it. I am leaving on a long trip on Monday and don't have much time to play. However since I won't be stamping for the next 3 weeks ( I will be in withdrawal ) I did want to participate this week. I have enjoyed looking at all the other creations. You are a talented group of women. The background stamp and paper is Stampin'Up. The sentiment is by Gina K. Colored with Copics.

This card was made with a Magenta stamp Another stamp that I had to have and it got 'lost' in my supply. I really like it and hope you do too. The card stock is Stampin'Up and the embossing folder is Quikcutz. The border is EK Success.

Happy Easter OLW 46
The One-Layer Wednesday challenge is to use an egg or eggs on your one-layer card. How easy is this! If you're not the Easter basket type, use eggs in a nest...or an egg in a cup, an egg and a chicken, an egg-head cartoon, a good egg, whatever. Loved this challenge as I could use my Stick Chick stamp. Just love her in her Easter Bonnet. I colored with Copics and used the glue pen and glitter. However is doesn't show up very well. I have not gotten the hang of taking pictures yet. I am sure that will come with practice. Grass was a very old Stampin'Up stamp and I used Satampin'Up wasabi ink.
Thanks for peeking.

Ribbon Egg
Last night I went to my 'girl's' stamping and fun night. One of the girls, Beth Smith, had us make this card which I thought was very cute. We used sparkly pale green base and white card stock on top. The egg was cut with the egg nesties which I may have to have. Ribbon was from her stash and a great way to use it. Sorry I don't know who the sentiment is by. Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder for the bottom border. Thought I would share. Hope you like it.

You know how that is. Card stock is Stampin'Up. Ribbon from Hobby Lobby. Butterflies are punched from Basic Grey paper using Stamin'Up Embosslit - Butterfly Wings. Embossing powder is from Commotion and I have had it for years. Glad to finally use some of it. I hope you like this card and it will make you think of Spring too.

OLW - 42 I've got the music in me.
This week’s challenge by http://www.stylesink.ca/ is to make a one-layer musical themed card. Anything to do with music. Sheet music, musical instruments, an image of someone singing; anything that in some way relates to music. So here is my effort. This Hero Arts stamp background has been in my drawer for ever. So I am glad to have the excuse to use it. You know what I mean...just had to have it and never used it....sound familier? I have to confess I stamped the background several time to get it right and then realised I had stamped it upside down. Frustrating !!!
The cardstock is Stampin'up. Ink on background is Momento's Paris Dusk, The little bear is by PSX and I masked it. Bear is colored with Stampin' Up markers.
Thanks for peeking.

Help Desk
Our oldest son helps us with our computer all the time even although he lives in another state and is busy with his own family. I wanted to make him a special thank you card. I hope he likes it.
I used a House Mouse stamp. Paper is Marina Mist. Very Vanilla and Soft Suede, all from Stampin'Up. I popped up the mice and used Copics to give a little color.

OLW -41 Christmas Card using red and green only.
This is my card for this weeks Simplicity http://simplicitybylateblossom.blogspot.com/ challenge. The idea was a Christmas card using one layer only and red and green ink. The hardest part of the challenge for me is photographing the card and then getting it on line. I am quite good at making cards but no good on the computer. So bare with me. I am learning. The stamp is one I bought many years ago. It is by Annette Watkins. Ink and paper is Stamping Up, red stickles and red embossing powder on the sentiment which is Hero Arts.
Thanks for looking. Sunday, February 13, 2011
Copic Marker Holder
I saw this idea on another blog http://craftystorage.blogspot.com/. I thought it was great. So I gave my husband a project and I love it. We bought the PVC Piping at Home Depot. It came in a 10' length. The salesman even cut it for us into 5" lengths. It was so kind of him. Fortunately they weren't busy at the time. The original holder was a pyramid but I wanted mine straight since I have a window above my working area. Now that I have my copics installed in their container I don't have as many as I thought I had. I guess I will have to go shopping.!!!!!! I also used some of the space for my Stampin'Up markers.
Thanks for looking.

OLW 40 - 2 images, no sentiments,bling or embellishments
Here is another challenge from Stylesink http://www.stylesink.ca/
This really was a challenge for me. I wanted to add more but I restrained myself. My little grandson will love this card. The green is only background paper and not on the card. The train is by Riley Moose Stamps. The tree is a favorite of mine from Stampin'Up. Colored with copics. I am just learning how to use these wonderful markers. Now that is a real challenge.

OLW 39 - Image, Border and Bling
This is my first attempt at the Simplicity challenge. I have been encouraged by my friend Carol. This is not as easy as it looks. Making one layer cards are not as easy as I thought. However it is really making me think and try to become creative. Since I am visiting Carol in Florida I do not have any supplies so had to go shopping. Of course that was not a hardship. Carol did let me use some of hers. I live in Colorado. So here is what I came up with. I hope you like it.
I borrowed some yellow card stock from Carol's stash. I used a border stamp I purchased by Fiskars. The butterfly is from PTI and the flight swirl is a $1 stamp.... both from Carol's collection. Added a few rhine stones to the flowers. Also colored the larger flowers with markers.
I am really pleased with my first attempt. Thank you for looking.

Romantic Hearts
Another Valentine card. I thought this looked romantic with the dark colors and ribbon. All card stock is from Stampin'Up. The background stamp is Hero Arts. The hearts are Stampendous and are cut out with Nestabilities Die. I also used Crystal Effects on the hearts which were colored with a pencil. A little glitter was added to the swirls above the hearts but it is hard to see in the scan. The ribbon was from Hobby Lobby. The border punch is from Stampin'Up.Thanks for looking
Bouquet of Hearts
Valentine's Day will soon be here so I am trying to get start on my cards. This little Stick Chick is by American Art Stamps. The embossing folder is from Cuttlebug and the paper is Stampin'Up. The background stamp is Hero Arts and the I used a Nestability die for the shape. The border punch is from Stampin' Up. Ribbon is from my stash. The sentiment is Hero Arts. Thanks for looking.
Little Chef
This is a birthday card for a dear friend. Note that she would rather have cheese and wine than cake. I used the paper piecing technique which I hadn't used before. I was pleased with how it turned out. All supplies are Stampin'Up. Thanks for taking a peek.
Little Boy birthday card
